Financial Aid

A limited amount of financial aid is available for tuition scholarships.  Aid is usually awarded for partial rather than full tuition. Families seeking financial assistance should submit a 2017-18 Financial Aid Application in lieu of the initial deposit.  Applications must be received by the following dates:

Returning members: April 23, 2017
New members (May audition): June 15, 2017
New members (August audition):  August 27, 2017

In addition to financial aid, students may also apply for a work-study position to help further offset the cost of tuition.

Work-Study

AYS offers a very limited number of work-study positions to help defray tuition costs for members. Students must be accepted members of the AYS Symphony Orchestra to apply.  Work-study duties include assisting with the take down of chairs and stands after rehearsals and concerts. Members participating in the work-study program will receive $150 off tuition. Please fill out a 2017-18 Work-Study Application and submit it by the following dates:

Returning members: April 23, 2017
New members (May audition): June 15, 2017
New members (August audition):  August 27, 2017

Applications for work-study will be considered in the order in which they are received and also based on the student’s recommendation form. Returning AYS students will receive priority consideration for available work-study positions.

New AYS students:  Please do not submit a work-study application until you have received an official acceptance notice from AYS.

Sibling Discount

Families with more than one child enrolled in AYS will receive a 10% discount off the tuition of each child.
